WELCOME TO THE SHEFFIELD VILLAGE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Our mission is to serve our community by preventing emergencies through education and inspection. Minimizing injury, death, and property destruction due to fire, natural disaster and other emergencies while providing timely and effective emergency medical services.
The Sheffield Village Fire Department (SVFD) is staffed with twenty professional Fire Officers and Firefighter/Paramedics. The SVFD operates a three shift rotation to which six firefighter/paramedics are assigned, working 48 hours on duty followed by 96 hours off duty. The SVFD operates two engines, one aerial ladder, two paramedic ambulances, one light rescue, one rescue/suppression UTV, boat and operations trailer. The SVFD is an ISO Class 3 rated organization.
The SVFD is an all hazards response organization involving fires, medical emergencies, technical rescues, water and ice rescues, natural and man-made disasters, investigations, incident management and whatever else we can do to help others.
The SVFD believes preventing a response is the best situation. We are active in fire prevention services, public CPR/AED, first aid, fire extinguisher, stop the bleed and fall prevention training. We have a child car seat installation program (by appointment) a safe haven child drop off program and a program to assist anyone who may be in crisis to guide them to professional assistance.
We encourage you to contact us with questions or suggestions. The Sheffield Village Fire Department is your Fire Department. We are proud to serve our community in any way we can.
Respectfully,
Scott Gilles, Fire Chief

The Residential lock box program is designed to allow access to homes during medical or other emergencies where the occupant is unable to open the door. The lock box program also reduces the likelihood of property damage caused by first responders forcing entry into a home in response to an emergency call.
