Fire Safety Presentations

All staff members of the Sheffield Village Fire Department are available upon request to give children fire safety presentations. Although the majority of requests come from preschools, kindergartens, grades 1-3, Scout Troops, and other children organizations, fire safety presentations can be given to kids of any age and will be tailored for the specific audience and age group. Depending on the group of children, topics might include:

• Stop, Drop, and Roll                                              
• Crawl Low Under Smoke
• Matches and Lighter Safety
• Smoke Detectors
• What is an Emergency?
• Dial 9-1-1 & Emergency Information
• Escape Plans & Exit Drills
• Firefighters Are Your Friends
• Firefighter Gear
• Household Hazards

ABC's of Fire Safety

Offered to pre-school childern, 4-5 years of age to teach general fire safety and what a firefighter looks like when completely dressed in fire fighting equipment. 

All School Assemblies

Members of the Sheffield Village Fire Department will present an approximately 1-hour presentation to all K-4th grade students. Fire Safety Tips, Home Escape Plans, and other activities to keep students engaged.

Fire Station Tours

The Sheffield Village Fire Department enjoys hosting tours both large and small. School groups, scouts, daycares, and even adults enjoy visiting our fire station.

We will show you what it’s like to live at the firehouse and of course, see all of the trucks and equipment used by the firefighters. We will also conduct a short fire prevention or other topic of your choice for the attendees. We always send the kids home with some cool mementos from their fire station visit as well.

 Special Events

The Sheffield Village Fire Department supports and participates in area health fairs, parades, block parties and Village functions throughout the year. We assist in community services for non-profit organizations such as the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

• Blood Pressure Checks
